The Wolf meet Mary Poppins? That’s how one of my clients described me after I reset an off-the-rails project, i.e., over budget, behind schedule, with a demoralized delivery team. On that project, as with any rescue project I take on, I set about doing what I love to do: untangle the mess, detox the overwhelm, reengage the team, and bring back the productivity, creativity, and fun—all the while getting the deliverables back on track.
Throughout my twenty-plus-year consulting career, I’ve been lucky enough to travel to Europe, Asia, and around North America to lead, support, and train teams, as well as working locally with teams whose members are spread around the globe. My blended background in technology, process improvement, and interpersonal psychology equips me with a triple-threat perspective to analyze root causes, provide a set of solution options, and identify changes that will have the most impact—all in context of a particular client’s cultural DNA.
My consistent focus on any project? Ensure that the people, processes, and technology can (and do) effectively support the mission at hand. I’ve worked with teams across a variety industries and specialties (such as product, marketing, IT, HR, manufacturing, finance, legal, and university research) always with the underlying commitment to help them get their work done better with greater ease and more joy—the most basic definition of process improvement in my book.
